Meet the Sweetest Stuffy You’ll Ever Stitch: The Staffordshire Bull Terrier Crochet Pattern

If you're a dog lover with a hook in your hand and yarn in your soul, you're going to fall head-over-heels for this one. Introducing… drum roll please… the Staffordshire Bull Terrier Crochet Pattern! 🐾

This little pup is more than just a pattern—it's a full-on cuddle experience. Whether you're making it as a gift, a tribute to your own Staffie, or just because you needed something absolutely adorable to brighten your day, this project checks all the boxes: cute, satisfying, beginner-friendly (but fun for seasoned crocheters), and guaranteed to spark joy.

And if you love discovering new patterns like this, you might want to check out my Creative Library — it’s full of exclusive designs and printable goodies, updated regularly with love.

Why You'll Love This Pattern

Staffies have a bad rep they don’t deserve—they’re goofy, loyal, and full of love. This amigurumi version captures all that charm with none of the barking. With its floppy ears, soulful eyes, and signature stocky build, this plushie pup is bound to steal hearts.

But wait—it gets better:

  • Instant download: Because patience? We don’t know her.
  • Beginner-friendly instructions: Even if you’re new to amigurumi, you got this.
  • Customizable spots: Make it look just like your own pupper!
  • Made with love (and yarn): The best kind of combo.

What You’ll Need

You’ll need your usual amigurumi suspects:

  • Cotton or acrylic yarn in white, pink, grey, and black (I used Yarn and colors "Must-Have" in 100 Black; 102 Marble ; 97 Shadow; 42 Peach; 46 Pastel Pink; 95 Soft Grey)
  • 3 mm crochet hook (or whatever you’re comfy with)
  • A pair of 10 mm Safety eyes
  • Stuffing
  • Stitch markers and a tapestry needle (because weaving in ends is a necessary evil)

Stitches and Abbreviations:

  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • 2sc = increase (2 sc in the next stitch)
  • sc2tog = decrease (single crochet two stitches together)
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • st(s) = stitch(es)
  • BLO: back loops only

Finished Size:

Who Is This Pattern For?

Anyone with a soft spot for pups and a passion for handmade things. Whether you’re crocheting for a friend, a customer, or your own collection of amigurumi misfits, this pattern is guaranteed to earn a "wow, you made that?!"

Bonus Idea: Make It a Memorial Plush 💔🐾

Many of my customers use these patterns to create special keepsakes in memory of a beloved dog. Add a little tag with their name or embroider a small heart—you’ll have a deeply meaningful, one-of-a-kind tribute.
